The streets of the Big Apple resonate with the wild Boogie Woogie of flying tables at dawn. Thousands of bewildered citizens witness this breathtaking spectacle.
Intertwining old dining tables, coffee tables, and nightstands, the sky of New York transformed yesterday into a surreal waltz of wood and formica. At dawn, no one believed it. Yet, the ball of tables indeed took place above Times Square, in broad daylight, to the astonishment of all.
The phenomenon began subtly; first a small nightstand that took off from Central Park, then a kitchen table from Lexington Avenue, and finally a massive conference table from Wall Street. All these pieces of furniture slowly ascended, twirling and pirouetting in the air as if propelled by an invisible force. The tables flew, danced, and spun around, startling the pigeons and surprising New Yorkers.
Scientists are puzzled. As Dr. Figment, a specialist in the inexplicable, puts it: “This is a tangible manifestation of the absurd. A rebellion of mundane objects against their stationary status. Or perhaps just a metaphysical prank from the cosmos.”
Another perspective comes from urban poet Clyde Specter. “This is Art, man,” he declared, admiring a Louis XV table floating above Fifth Avenue. “It’s a metaphor for our civilization, man. We’re all flying tables, carried away by the wind of existence.”
However, while waiting for this strange celestial ballet to cease, authorities recommend not going outside without a protective helmet and to look up carefully before crossing the streets. You never know when a nightstand might fall on you.
