As small as a button and endowed with extraordinary intelligence, Karl the donkey is the greatest musical prodigy ever recorded in the animal kingdom.

On a beautiful afternoon in the peaceful countryside of Dordogne, Karl, a donkey considered ordinary until then, discovers an old piano abandoned in the field of his farm. There, the incredible happens: he begins to play harmonious melodies, astonishing his owner, the farmer Jean Dupont, and the neighboring dairy cows.

“He started playing Chopin!” exclaims Jean Dupont, stars in his eyes. “It was like a waking dream. I felt vibrations in the air, and when I turned my head, it was Karl, gently pressing the keys of my grandmother’s old piano. I couldn’t believe my eyes!” Since this discovery, the farmer has apparently placed a piano in the stable and notes Karl’s marked preference for classical music, particularly Chopin and Beethoven.

The story of Karl quickly spread throughout the village, attracting curious onlookers and local journalists. The buzz even reached the capital, where a famous music producer, who wished to remain anonymous, decided to organize a concert for Karl. “This is a unique opportunity to introduce this prodigy to the whole world. The talent of this donkey is a true gift from heaven,” he declared.

However, not everyone sees Karl as the Mozart of the animal kingdom. Yves Moreau, president of the French Association for the Preservation of Animal Dignity (AFDPA), is concerned: “We must ensure that Karl is not exploited for his talent. He should be able to play the piano because he wants to, not for the profit of others.”
Jean Dupont immediately responded to these concerns, stating: “Karl plays when he wants to, and if at any time he no longer wants to play, there will be no concert. It’s as simple as that.”

The incredible talent of Karl the donkey has moved and surprised all those who have heard him. Karl’s first concert is scheduled for next month and, unsurprisingly, tickets have sold like hot cakes. A donkey at the piano, who would have believed it? Only at Infos du Monde!
