According to this rumor, these “robo-squirrels” are supposedly put in place by a secret organization aiming to control the population through natural resources.
These squirrels could allegedly collect detailed information about the forest environment, animal movements, and even human activities in the woods. Several photos and videos, supposedly “evidence,” are circulating on the web, showing squirrels with visible metal parts, antennas, or bright eyes in the darkness. These images have, of course, been denied by experts, but they have only fueled the rumor mill.
