The giraffe that won the Tour de France: A first in sports history

An unprecedented event occurred during the famous Tour de France cycling race. This year, it was not a high-level athlete, but a giraffe named Simone who won the prestigious competition.

In a surprising series of events, Simone, the giraffe from Beauval Zoo, has ended human dominance of the Tour de France. With a literal head start, she climbed mountains, sped through the plains at full speed, and left everyone amazed by her perseverance and endurance.

“We always knew that Simone was special. She has always liked watching the race on television. You could say she was a bit obsessed,” confides Adrien Leveque, Simone’s keeper. “But we never thought she would participate one day. It’s a total surprise.”

Simone began to take an interest in cycling from an early age. The zookeepers noticed that she spent a lot of time observing visitors’ bikes and trying to mount one. They ended up making a custom one for her, large and sturdy enough to support her weight. Simone’s training began then, and she showed incredible talent on two wheels.

“I’ve seen many athletes train hard to participate in the Tour de France, but Simone’s determination is extraordinary,” declared Marc Madiot, sports director of the FDJ, with a smile. “She literally galloped to the finish line. It was unbelievable.”

With this unlikely victory, Simone has not only made Tour de France history but also set a precedent for animals in sports. Everyone is now eagerly looking forward to seeing what other challenges Simone will take on.

“No bones about it, Simone is a true champion,” declared LeBron James, a basketball superstar, in a made-up quote. “She’s proven that it doesn’t matter where you come from – zoo or not – you can accomplish great things if you put your mind to it.”
