The Large Collection of Plastic Bags in the Village Sparks Outrage

Introductory lines: Residents of the small village of Saint-Péterslee are in turmoil as a dispute rages over Désiré Lefèvre’s collection of plastic bags. The retired businessman is far from being an ordinary shopkeeper.

For decades, Désiré Lefèvre has dedicated himself to his passion: collecting plastic bags from various grocery stores and markets across the country. His imposing collection, stored in his garage, has sparked the anger of his neighbors.

“The problem is that he leaves no room for anything else,” explains Agnès Bouvier, a local resident. “There are bags everywhere! We can’t even park our bikes in the shared garage because it’s full of plastic bags.”

The conflict has escalated to such an extent that the village council has stepped in, proposing a public meeting to discuss the situation. Désiré, however, remains unyielding.

“Plastic bags are an important part of our history,” he says. “It’s not just a collection for me, it’s an archive. Each plastic bag reminds me of a specific moment in my life. I’ve had these bags from my first job as a clerk in a grocery store to my last trip as a retiree to the coast. I refuse to simply throw them away because some find that they take up too much space.”

Thus, the battle continues in the peaceful village of Saint-Péterslee, where local residents no longer know how to handle the situation. And in the meantime, Désiré’s collection continues to grow.
