An astonishing event occurred in the sky today, leaving astronomers and dreamers speechless. But upon closer inspection, isn’t it just a reflection of reality distorted by an imaginary mirror?
The celestial clock seems to have forgotten to chime dusk today. The sun, having slumped onto a cloud, pulled a soft watch from its starry pocket, gazed at it with boredom before letting out a yawn that shook the entire solar system. The golden star then declared nonchalantly, “I’ve decided to sleep. Night is postponed. Sweet dreams to all.”
The silence that followed this declaration lasted for a heartbeat of a comet, before being broken by a whisper of confusion that spread throughout the universe. The stars, in a movement of silent protest, dimmed their glow, and the moons, miffed, grumbled and began to sulk, refusing to show their faces.
In a distant corner of the Galaxy, a group of planets, led by Saturn, is preparing to send a delegation to convince the sun of its mistake. “This goes against all laws of physics!” declared Jupiter, indignant. “And what becomes of dreamers and lovers of the night if the night no longer occurs?”
As debates rage on and our star’s slumber seems to deepen, an enigmatic figure dressed in black stands apart from the rest of the Universe. “We still have the possibility to create our own night, to let our minds draw the stars and to fall asleep under the blanket of our dreams,” it murmurs before disappearing, leaving behind a trail of stardust.
As the sun continues to snore, life on earth has embraced this idea. People have started painting their windows black, lighting candles, and inventing their own constellations under the ceilings of their homes. After all, “Imagination is not a perversion of reality, but another reality, equally valid,” as our dear Dali would say.
