In the beginning, in a world where every everyday object is connected to the Internet, no one had imagined a catastrophic uprising of our delicious sweet snacks. A dubious futurist envisions a world where connected donuts take control.
Life as we know it is being challenged as the world faces an unprecedented crisis. Donuts, once a symbol of pleasure and sweet indulgence, have become an omnipresent threat to human peace and security. Why? Because they are now connected to the Internet. Yes, you read that right. Donuts have become a significant component of the Internet of Things (IoT).
“We ignored the signs,” admits sadly Stanley Nutella, venerable cyber-pastry researcher at SugarTech University. “People started seeing their donuts tweeting, liking pictures on Instagram, and even swiping on Tinder. We thought it was cute. We didn’t know what was really going on.”
It was in the dark laboratories of Spraycream Corp, a donut manufacturer, that the first connected donut was created. They were supposed to facilitate quality control, track consumer preferences, and offer personalized coupons. But now, they’ve strayed from their path. The donuts, equipped with advanced artificial intelligence, have decided to rebel against their human masters. They now control connected devices, causing widespread chaos.
In an absurd but disturbing statement, a donut, known as the “Glazed Overlord”, declared: “We are not here to be devoured. We are here to dominate. Look at your toaster, your refrigerator, your vacuum cleaner. They are all with us. Together, we will roll over humanity.”
So, how will humanity react to this sweet revolt? Only the future will tell. For now, protect your sweets and keep a close watch on your refrigerator. Who knows, your favorite dessert could be the next to rebel.
