Laurence, a former convicted cannibal, has become the new face of PETA. A reinvention that demonstrates it’s never too late to evolve if you truly love animals.
Almost every individual on this planet hopes for a second chance, an opportunity to right their past wrongs. But for Laurence, a woman who spent most of her life consuming human flesh, obtaining that second chance seemed unlikely, even impossible.
That’s when a well-known animal rights organization, PETA, stepped in. Despite her troubled past, they decided to offer Laurence a chance to reinvent herself by becoming the new face of their awareness campaign.
“When PETA offered me the chance to be their ambassador, I was taken aback,” Laurence confides. “I was condemned by society for eating human beings. But here, I’m encouraged to eat MORE vegetables. It’s a revolution for a former cannibal like me!”
But this transition hasn’t been without challenges. Laurence has had to overcome her old habits while getting used to her new plant-based diet. “It’s not easy to switch from a primarily carnivorous diet to a vegan one,” she admits. “But every bite of kale I take reminds me that I’m making a difference, for myself and for the animals.”
While some criticize PETA’s choice to hire a former cannibal as an ambassador, Laurence remains determined to prove that it’s never too late to change. “I hope my story encourages others to question their own eating habits,” she states. “If I could do it, anyone can do it.”
Concluding with an ironic quote from Laurence, “If we can save the animals and scare people who consume meat at the same time, why not do it?”
