The residents of the small village of Pétigny-sur-Marne, in Allier, have been talking about only one thing since this morning: the rebellion of Claudine, Raymond Thibault’s favorite hen, who has decided to go on an egg strike. A true shock for Raymond, who was counting on Claudine for his daily batch of fresh omelets.

“It’s a disastrous tragedy! Claudine has always been a proud and dedicated layer. I don’t know what’s gotten into her,” sighs Raymond, looking distraught. “I even tried giving her her favorite seeds, but nothing works. She just perches on her roost, beak shut and defiant gaze.”

A prominent local figure, Raymond, known for his “Thibault-Style” omelets, will be forced to rethink his signature recipe that featured Claudine’s eggs. “This is very bad news for food enthusiasts. Without Claudine’s eggs, Raymond’s omelet will lose its authenticity,” laments Jeanne Dupont, the village café owner and a big fan of Raymond’s omelets.

“There are always ups and downs in chicken farming,” states Raymond, trying to maintain a positive outlook despite the bad fortune. “But Claudine needs to understand that we are a team and that without her, I am like an empty shell. I’m going to talk to her, explain that she is indispensable, and I hope that will make a difference,” he concludes optimistically.
