In Marée-sur-Mer, a seagull demanded an office with a view of the harbor and fish breaks.
City hall opened an investigation after she blocked access to the photocopier.
It all started Tuesday morning, when Ginette, a seagull by profession, showed up at the front desk of city hall with a seaweed briefcase and a sardine-stained CV. She was seeking a part-time position in the archives department.
“I’m very organized: I sort seashells by order of crunchiness,” she reportedly said before perching on the keyboard of the nearest computer.
The situation became more complicated when she sent a remote-work request from the roof of the building, accompanied by an invoice for dried fish. The employees, amused but perplexed, tried to negotiate by offering a chair suited to her webbed feet.
As we go to press, Ginette is still waiting for an official response. She has reportedly agreed to wait, on the condition that the meeting be moved near the fish market.
