# City hall inaugurates a roundabout that leads exactly… to the same roundabout

After three years of construction, drivers can finally circle the worksite without leaving the worksite.
The signs promise an exit soon, but refuse to specify from what.

At 9:02 a.m., the first vehicle entered the roundabout. At 9:04, it exited. At 9:06, it came back. “It’s the first time I’ve set off somewhere without needing to leave the place,” confided Marcel D., still behind the wheel.

The structure, dubbed *The Great Detour*, has six exits, five of which lead back to the entrance and one that leads to a sign reading: “You are here.” According to city hall, this signage was installed “to reassure drivers who are beginning to doubt their position, their destination, or the very existence of roads.”

The works mobilized two teams, three excavators, and a surveyor who, according to our information, is still looking for north. The inaugural ribbon was duly cut, but the wind dropped it in the middle of the roundabout. A retrieval ceremony is planned as soon as the guests have found the right exit.

As we go to press, our reporter has been circling the subject for twenty minutes. He claims to have found a conclusion, but it leads back to the first paragraph. Our newsroom will deliver it to you as soon as it figures out how to get out of it.
