In a Limoges supermarket, a zucchini sparked a crowd surge by rolling
under the conveyor belt, before demanding—according to witnesses—“an organic basket and a lawyer.”
The scene unfolded Tuesday morning in the produce aisle. Placed on the belt at checkout number 4, the zucchini suddenly shot back up the conveyor the wrong way, sowing panic among the groceries and knocking over three yogurts.
“She looked determined,” recalls Nadine, a stunned customer. “When the cashier tried to scan it, it rolled under the counter. I’d never seen a vegetable so uncooperative.”
After twenty minutes of negotiations, an employee managed to retrieve it with the help of a baguette. Management says the incident is closed, but has installed a barrier in the zucchini aisle “as a precaution.”
The rebel was eventually sold at the normal price. It reportedly left the store in a paper bag, without making a statement.
