For the second time this month, Mrs. Duchamps has discovered an unpleasant surprise in her mailbox.
Ever since she switched to a paleo diet, Géraldine Duchamps, 47, a resident of Bubry (Morbihan), only receives half-chewed bills and dubious flyers. But this morning, the mailman had left a surprise that was far less appetizing. “Félix, my old tomcat of seventeen years, was stuck in the mailbox, paws in the air. He was suffocating, the poor thing!”
In response to this incident, the Post has announced the launch of a new line of buoys for cats. “Cats are curious creatures by nature, and we take the safety of all family members seriously,” said a spokesperson. “With our new cat buoys, our goal is to reduce the number of incidents of this kind. The buoy will be attached to the animal’s neck, allowing it to float above envelopes and packages.”
The Post has also promised a recycling program for these buoys once they are worn out. “We want to be environmentally friendly and we are committed to recycling these buoys, to prevent them from ending up in the stomach of a whale or a lost fish,” said another spokesperson.
The spokesperson continued: “Safety is our top priority, whether it’s ensuring your mail arrives in good condition, or that your cat doesn’t drown in a sea of bills and flyers. Because after all, there’s nothing more disappointing than an old tomcat washed out by mail, gasping for air in your mailbox. Isn’t that right, Mrs. Duchamps?”
Mrs. Duchamps was unable to respond to our question; she was busy extracting another surprise from her mailbox.
