Business Monkeys: A Company Meeting That’s Totally Bananas

At the beginning: In an unexpected turn of events, a group of capuchin monkeys has taken over a conference room at the headquarters of a Silicon Valley multinational.

Silicon Valley, a global tech hub, witnessed an unusual event this week. A group of capuchin monkeys, apparently escaped from a nearby zoo, took over a conference room within a software company. They were discovered sitting around the table, manipulating pens, notepads, and even playing with the projector.

“At first, we thought it was a tasteless joke,” said Linda Williams, the human resources manager. “But the risk of these monkeys damaging our equipment or injuring themselves forced us to call the authorities to have them removed.”

Capuchins are known for their intelligence and ability to use tools. “It’s a fascinating experience to see them interacting with a human environment in this way,” said Dr. Oliver Chesterfield, a primatology specialist at Stanford University. “Of course, they didn’t really understand what they were doing, but their curiosity and skill in manipulating small objects certainly created an irresistibly comical scene.”

A quote falsely attributed to one of the monkeys quickly went viral on social media: “All work and no bananas make Jack a very dull monkey.” Needless to say, monkeys can’t actually talk, but the joke gave rise to many memes and jokes on the Internet.

The incident is slowly dying down, but this monkey meeting will no doubt be etched in memory. The next time you’re bored during a never-ending meeting, think of these capuchin monkeys who seemed to have a lot of fun at their meeting.
