At first, it was thought to be just an internet buzz. Yet, it seems the incredible has become reality!
In an unexpected twist that shocked the world, Napoleon Bonaparte appeared in Paris, claiming to be back from the beyond. Not only is he back, but he has an ambition: the presidency of the European Union.
“I observed from the other side, I saw Europe’s decline. It’s time for me to return and unite Europe under a single hat – mine of course!” declared Napoleon during a hastily organized press conference in front of his supposed tomb at the Dôme des Invalides.
At the same time, there are many skeptics. History and science experts were astounded and almost unanimously labeled this as the “hoax of the century”. A special committee has been formed to verify the authenticity of this “Reborn Napoleon”. “There’s a big difference between resembling Napoleon and being Napoleon. Furthermore, it takes more than a hat and a uniform to lead Europe,” stated contemporary history professor, Jean-Luc Pierre.
Whatever the truth may be, one thing is certain: Europe is living through a time that will go down in its annals. Taking his role very seriously, Napoleon has already begun detailing his plans for Europe, notably a “unified continental railway network” and a “full conversion to solar energy by 2030”.
Finally, concluding his press conference, he said with a mischievous smile, “I’ve been absent two hundred years, but as they say in France, better late than never!” Only time will tell if he restores the Empire or misses the glory once again. And if it’s a hoax, it’s probably the most elaborate one the world has ever seen.
