To everyone’s surprise, the threat hides where no one sees it. Experts confirm: there is an invasion of invisible unicorns.
It all started last Wednesday when self-proclaimed animal invisibility researcher, Dr. Emile Fantoche, announced that an unsuspected wave of invisibility has struck the world, though we cannot see it. Relying on an innovative and highly controversial technique he calls “imaginary echolocation,” Dr. Fantoche claims he can detect the presence of invisible unicorns.
“I have long suspected the presence of these strange creatures around us, but I had no way of confirming it,” said Dr. Fantoche, who has spent his career searching for evidence of invisible animals. “I am thrilled to finally be able to prove their existence. We are surrounded by unicorns. They are simply… invisible.”
Although Dr. Fantoche’s statements have been widely mocked by the scientific community, some people are convinced of their truth. Indeed, an association has formed around this cause, called the League for the Protection of Invisible Unicorns. They plan to launch an awareness campaign to encourage people to be more mindful of the space around them in order not to inadvertently harm these invisible creatures.
“It’s a matter of respect for all living beings, visible or not,” said Penelope Gazouillis, president and founder of the League. “Our members are dedicated and commit to being cautious in all their daily activities. Who knows how many invisible unicorns have already been accidentally injured by careless gestures?”
Even if this idea seems absurd and lacks evidence, it nevertheless raises an interesting question: do we really live in a world where all we see is all there is? Or is there more to discover? As always, time will tell.
