In the beginning: To the great misfortune of her loved ones, an octogenarian from Trouville-sur-Mer turns out to be the “Dangerous Dulcinea” of family gatherings.
Granny Gisèle, aged 82, had a bittersweet specialty: she concocted strychnine pastries for grand occasions. The police were alerted after yet another collective malaise during a wild cousin reunion where her famous lard pastries were particularly appreciated.
“I do not understand what is happening, these pastries have always been a success in my family,” declared Granny Gisèle with a sinister chuckle. “Maybe I should try a new recipe?”
The investigation revealed that the adorable grandmother had ignored the lethal warnings on the strychnine label she used to season her deadly baked goods. “She thought it was baking soda,” explained Sergeant Dupont, in charge of the investigation. “Of course, the taste of strychnine is slightly more bitter.”
Granny Gisèle, who remains surprisingly indifferent to the consequences of her actions, stated: “I suppose my grandchildren will never ask me to make my famous apple pies again. What a pity!”
The investigation into this case continues, and the list of potential victims continues to grow. For now, no family member seems willing to participate in any family event until the investigation into the “terrifying pastries” is resolved.
