A serious scandal is shaking the peaceful village of Trézilide. The popular dairy cow Marguerite has ostentatiously abandoned her traditional grass for the one on the left.
Cow Marguerite, holder of the local milk production record for three consecutive years, caused astonishment by moving one morning to the left side of her usual meadow. She grazed the green grass with delight, rudely ignoring the equally juicy one on the right. This situation has caused an unprecedented outcry among the villagers, who see it as a challenge to local tradition.
Mr. Albert Dupont, the owner of Marguerite, is as bewildered as the rest of the village. “It’s incredible, Marguerite has always preferred the right side of the meadow,” he says, his eyebrows furrowed in perplexity. “It’s as if she suddenly changed her diet. She really seems to enjoy the left-side grass. I don’t know why.”
Speculation is rife as to the reason for this drastic change. Some believe that the composition of the grass must have changed, while others think that Marguerite simply decided to break the routine. Regardless, this change is causing a stir throughout Trézilide.
“We don’t know what this means for Marguerite’s future and her milk production,” comments Mireille Lefèvre, the village’s schoolteacher. “But one thing is certain, we are witnessing a real bovine revolution!” As they await more answers, the entire village is hanging on Marguerite’s next movements. The inhabitants can only hope that this “bovine revolution” does not disturb the traditional tranquility of their peaceful commune.
