Hook: An Oklahoma farmer has discovered a method to increase the productivity of his laying hens. Music, particularly piano music, seems to be their secret!
Article:
The incredible adventure of Michael Johnson, an Oklahoma farmer, is taking a sensational turn. Ever since he started playing the piano for his chickens, egg production on his farm has dramatically increased.
“I was sitting one day in the chicken coop, right next to my grand piano, and I started to play a piece by Beethoven. In an instant, the chickens became totally silent and started to lay eggs!”, Michael recounts, surprised by this sudden productivity, he decided to repeat the experiment. “It was amazing, every time I played the piano, they laid eggs. I even tried with country music, pop, reggae, nothing worked. Only the piano put them in all their states!”
Our dear Michael, a farmer as passionate about music as agriculture, finally decided to make his two passions a combined career. He started giving daily concerts to his chickens. “They particularly prefer Mozart and Chopin. The sonatas really seem to put them at ease,” he explains. Ever since Michael started playing them the piano, the chickens have doubled their egg production.
In a grandiose and absurd misquote, Michael is said to have declared: “It’s a real miracle! I’m the man who taught his chickens to appreciate great music. And they repay me well. In eggs! I now plan to form a farm orchestra to see if cows give more milk when accompanied by guitar.”
This story is, of course, completely fictitious and is only intended to make you smile. Who knows, however? Maybe one day we will discover that chickens are really big music lovers!
