The small feline turned heads in this Silicon Valley company where he clinched the coveted title of “Employee of the Month.”
It all began when Mr. Whiskers, a domestic kitten, was introduced into the offices of the tech start-up “App-feline”. The presence of the kitten quickly had a positive impact on the morale of the employees. The atmosphere radically improved, with happier, more relaxed, and more productive workers.
“He brings a certain tranquility to the company, helps us de-stress,” explains Jenny Simmons, a software developer at App-feline. “When you’re stressed, you look at Mr. Whiskers, he looks at you with his big innocent eyes, and you just feel better.”
Cats are often said to have nine lives, but Mr. Whiskers seems to be the first cat to have a career. Not only has he improved the mood, but his presence even inspired new innovative ideas for the company. One employee recently proposed an app for cat owners, which is now in development.
“Mr. Whiskers is a constant inspiration for us. He’s not just a cat, he’s our mascot, our good luck charm, and now our Employee of the Month,” declares the company’s CEO, Tim Johnson. “He has this talent for making us all happier and more creative. I’m sure he doesn’t even realize how important he is to us,” he added with a smile.
Employees agree that Mr. Whiskers fully deserves his title. For them, it’s proof that even in the business world, a bit of sweetness and feline companionship can make a big difference.
