A Cat Achieves the Yellow Jersey of the Tour de France by an Odd Coincidence!

Hook: A domestic feline has managed to break all records of the Tour de France. And this, without even leaving its basket!

On this unusually sporty weekend, the world witnessed an unparalleled achievement. Maxou, a European breed cat whose main activity is to purr during its seventeen hours of daily sleep, outperformed all other competitors in the Tour de France race. And all while comfortably settled on its cushion.

The real mystery lies in how this happened. How could a cat, which spends most of its days dozing, become the winner of the Tour de France? According to Maxou’s owner, Mr. Jean-Paul Legardien, it all started when his sports GPS mysteriously ended up in Maxou’s basket. Maxou’s movements, which intensified due to a mouse that took up residence under his basket, were recorded on the device throughout the competition.

“It’s really extraordinary,” adds Mr. Legardien. “I have never seen Maxou so agitated. He must have mistaken the mouse for a toy or something. And the GPS recorded all his movements. When I saw the results on the screen, I was astounded to see that Maxou covered a distance equivalent to that of the Tour de France!”

There is certainly no precedent for this. A cat, inadvertently participating in the Tour de France, has become the undisputed winner. Admittedly, he didn’t receive the cheering crowd or the kiss from the lovely hostess at the finish, but this year’s Tour de France trophy will undoubtedly be filled with kibble, a first in cycling history.

In a fictional quote, Maxou would have declared: “I was just looking for a snack.” A humble statement for a very, very unusual champion. When will the next feline surprise come?

Note: No mice were harmed during this race.
