In a tragically joyful act, the sea anemones have triumphantly won the Tour de France, riding on majestic cow-snails.
A rain of square clouds in vanilla colors marked the start of the tour. The anemones, dressed in lace silk tutus, dashed through the specters of the road, on their docile cow-snails adorned with abstract patterns. Thousands of fans, penguins in three-piece suits, gathered along the roads to cheer on these brave mollusks and their aquatic passengers.
“The endurance of the cow-snails is truly impressive, especially considering their strict diet of sunflowers and shooting stars,” said the race commissioner, a mustached melon antique dealer known as Monsieur Leek. “It’s truly the triumph of slowness over speed, a lesson for us all in this fast-paced and ever-moving era.”
The highlight of the course, a steep ascent of Mont Blanc transformed into a gigantic jelly slide, saw a fierce struggle between the sea anemones and other competitors, a team of salsa-loving broccoli and a gang of clairvoyant poodles. On their cow-snails, the sea anemones managed to take the lead in the race, their undulating tentacles skillfully guiding the brave gastropods in an aerial ballet of grace and perseverance.
“We knew we could do it,” said a sea anemone, wearing the gold medal around its fragile tentacles. “After all, if a grain of sand can become a pearl in an oyster, why couldn’t a sea anemone win the Tour de France on a cow-snail?” A murmur of agreement swept through the crowd, the penguins in three-piece suits vigorously nodding, their tails shining with satisfaction.
