Unrest in the quiet Dupont Farm: the hens have decided to boycott the new organic seeds. A strike movement that leaves their owner bewildered.
A real revolution is shaking the peaceful Dupont Farm, nestled in the heart of our beautiful countryside. The hens, ordinarily so docile, have decided to snub their daily ration. The culprit of this poultry coup is none other than the change of food made by Jean-Pierre Dupont, the owner of the place, who thought he was doing well by opting for organic seeds.
“It’s a disaster! The hens stop laying and my fresh egg selling business is in jeopardy. Who would have thought? My hens, on strike because of organic seeds!” exclaims farmer Dupont, clearly overwhelmed by the events. Dupont Farm, known for the quality of its fresh eggs, has always attached major importance to the well-being of its animals. The change to organic seeds seemed therefore to be a natural transition.
The veterinary team urgently called to the scene has so far found no health anomalies in the poultry. “It simply seems that these feathered ladies have a very bad temper,” comments Dr. Bernard, local veterinarian.
Jean-Pierre Dupont still remains hopeful: “Perhaps they will eventually get used to this change. Otherwise, I will have to find another solution to satisfy these capricious ladies”. While waiting for a resolution of this puzzle, egg production on the Dupont Farm is in sharp decline. A ridiculous but crucial issue for our local farmer.
