Giant Sea Snails Invade the Senate to Claim Their Shell Ownership Rights

Content:

In the beginning: In an unprecedented move, giant sea snails infiltrated the Senate, disrupting a plenary session to demand recognition of their shell ownership rights.

The snails, which scientists say can grow up to two meters in length, surprised the senators by silently sneaking into the chamber. Armed with banners written in snail script, the gastropods claimed the right to own and protect their shells, which they consider their natural homes.

“We woke up this morning to find these crawling creatures on the Senate floor,” said a maintenance worker who requested to remain anonymous. “At first, we thought it was a joke, but when they started displaying their signs, we realized they were serious.”

According to a specialist in gastropod languages, whose very existence was little known to the public until now, the inscriptions on the banners translate to slogans such as “Shells to those who occupy them” and “No to shell expropriation.”

“This is an incredibly unique situation,” said Senator Alphonse Gastropoda, a self-proclaimed expert in mollusk law. “I believe I understand that these creatures simply want us to acknowledge their natural right to protect their habitat. It’s a matter of snail dignity.”

While this situation may seem absurd and hilarious to some, it raises serious questions about animal rights and their recognition in our society. Senators are currently deliberating on the next steps to take. “We must be cautious,” said Gastropoda. “After all, if we don’t take this matter seriously, who knows what animal might show up next – starfish demanding citizenship?”
